Fishing Industry Impact Task Force
Messrs. deMacedo, O'Connor and Tarr move to amend the bill by inserting the following new section:- "SECTION XX. There shall be a task force to study and develop recommendations on the impact of annual closures of Cape Cod Bay to protect the right whale population on the Massachusetts fishing industry. The task force shall consist of the following members or their designees: the commissioner of the department of conservation and recreation, who shall serve as chair; the secretary of labor and workforce development; the director of the division of marine fisheries; and 4 persons to be appointed by the governor, 1 of whom shall be a representative from the Massachusetts lobstermen's associati…
