Updating Health Curriculum
Mr. Cyr and Ms. O'Connor Ives move to amend the bill by adding the following 2 subsections:- “(e) The department may determine minimum education and training qualifications for sexual health education instructors. (f) Pursuant to section 1E of chapter 69, the board of elementary and secondary education shall direct the commissioner to update the health curriculum framework, including provisions relative to sexual health education, consistent with this section, upon the effective date of this act and periodically thereafter.”; and in section 2, by inserting after the word “act”, in line 59, the following words:- “in advance of the 2018-2019 school year”.
