Providing assistance to Regional Transit Authorities to create an Electric Bus Rollout Plan

Ms. Chandler, Ms. Rausch, Mr. Lesser, Ms. Jehlen, Messrs. Gomez and Cronin, Ms. Comerford, Ms. Moran, Ms. Edwards, Messrs. Velis, Timilty and Hinds, Ms. DiZoglio and Ms. Lovely move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section 53 the following section:- SECTION 53. Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall provide each regional transit authority established under chapter 161B of the General Laws with assistance to create an electric bus rollout plan that includes: (i) a goal to transition to zero-emission buses; provided, however, that the goal shall not require an internal combustion engine bus to be…
