Thermal energy pilot projects
Ms. Creem, Mr. Eldridge, Ms. Jehlen, Ms. Comerford, Messrs. Pacheco, O'Connor, Moore, Tarr and Tran move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 46, by inserting after the word “emissions”, in line 593, the following words:- "that satisfy the mandates of greenhouse gas reductions set forth in chapter 21N of the General Laws. The department may, within such a pilot, permit a gas company to bill for thermal energy"; and in said section 46, by inserting after the fourth sentence the following sentence:- "The department shall ensure transparency and validity of the outcomes of the pilot projects through a third-party evaluation and report by the department of energy resources.".
